Pasqua Yacui CAP Connection
Delivery of CAP water to Pueblo Park has to be coordinated with the filling of the casino golf course reservoir.
Location: Pascua Yaqui Nation, Arizona
Year Complete: In Construction
Project Lead: Solis Engineering
Client: Pascua Yaqui Tribe
CAP water will replace City of Tucson Water as the primary irrigation source at Pueblo Park. A new distribution line will connect to the existing Pascua Yaqui Tribe (PYT) water main that runs from the PYT turnout on the Central Arizona Project (CAP). Wilder’s irrigation design accounts for the needed filtration of CAP water and puts the filter discharge water to use irrigating new tree planting. The irrigation system can be easily returned to Tucson Water source should there be a disruption with CAP water supply.
Measuring pressure at rotor using a pitot tube gauge. The bare spots of turf are due to system not providing required pressure to rotors as designed.
Tour of nearby Casino golf course. Heavy duty filtration of CAP required due to presence of zebra mussel larvae which can infest / clog irrigation systems.
Existing Pueblo Park irrigation booster pumps will be throttled down due to the higher pressure of delivered CAP water.
